"I teach people to be creative"
Louisa has over 23 years of teaching experience spanning
from Singapore to New York, USA. In New York she was a
drama coach at Rochester Association of Performing Arts (RAPA). She designed and taught coaching modules to American children ages 8 to 14 for drama training and stage performances. She sat on the Board of RAPA from 2006 to 2009. Trained in both English and American Drama and Public Speaking techniques, she brings the best of both worlds into the Periwinkle curriculum she writes. In 2009 she was a keynote speaker at the 7th Annual Speaking of Women's Health Conference hosted by WXXI in Rochester, NY where she spoke to an audience of 1000 women.
Over the many years more than a thousand students have benefitted from her training. She was an active volunteer at Samaritans of Singapore, Katong Special School and Singapore Children’s Society (Tinkle Friend). In the U.S. she volunteered for story telling events at Pittsford Community Library, was a lector at St Louis Church. Currently, she volunteers actively at Church of Divine Mercy, Changi Simei Community Centre, Community Arts & Culture Clubs (Passion Arts) and is a member of the Women's Executive Committee.

Dr. Christine Chen
Dr. Chen is the Founder President of the Association for Child Care Educators (ACCE) and Founder and current President of the Association for Early Childhood Educators (AECES). Dr. Chen received her BA in Social Work from the University of Singapore, continued with her Masters of Science in Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College of Education, New York City and the Doctor of Education from the George Washington University.
Her first work experience in Singapore was in the company sponsored child care centre for factory workers’ children, she learnt about the importance of having qualified teachers to ensure quality education for ALL children. As a resulted she initiated the Association to advocate for teacher development, continuous learning and career pathways. She has been advocating for professional development and learning for early childhood educators for 25 years.
Internationally, she is the Director (2014-12016) at Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood (ARNEC), President (2015-1017), Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI) and Deputy Chairwoman (2014-2019) of the Asia-Pacific Preschool Education Association. She represents Singapore in the Pacific Early Childhood Education Research Association (PECERA) and serves on the Editorial Board for the International Journal of Early Childhood Education and the International Journal of Early Childhood Education and Care. She is also a Member of the Advisory Board of IndoCare – Indonesia Centre for Autism Resource and Expertise and has done voluntary work in Vietnam with the National College of Education, Hanoi through the Singapore International Foundation.
In her advocacy work in Singapore, Dr. Chen served as a Member of the Child Care Personnel Accreditation Committee with the then Ministry of Community Development to look into accreditation matters as well as professional development for the child care profession. She sits on the Early Childhood Care and Education Manpower, Skills and Training Council. And she served as a Member of the Policy Study Workgroup on Education and Human Capital Excellence (2007-2009).
For all her voluntary and community services, she was awarded the Public Service Award, the Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (PBM - 1994) and Volunteer of the Year Award, 2010 from the President of Singapore.
Dr. Jane Lim Seok Jeng
Dr. Lim is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Elementary and Special Education of Middle Tennessee State University, USA. She earned her Bachelor of Social Science in Children & Family Studies from Edith Cowan University, Perth, Australia. She acquired her Master in Educational Leadership in Early Childhood Education from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. In 2012, she earned her Ph.D. in Elementary/Early Childhood Education from University at Buffalo, The State University of New York.
Dr. Lim is a Singaporean and has more than 15 years working and teaching preschoolers and adults in early childhood education. She has presented in 30 national, state and international conferences.
Her area of research interest is on the issue of bullying among the underrepresented population – refugee children. She was the former Executive Director of Association for Early Childhood Educators (Singapore) – AECES. She was on the executive board of the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI) and is the current President of Tennessee ACEI.
