Periwinkle Storytelling Courses
1) Tall Tales! - For pre-schoolers to adults/teachers (specially curated) to experience and enjoy the fine art of storytelling.
2) Story Drama – Improv Playwriting culminating in drama and storytelling – for
elementary and middle school age students.
3) On the Same Page – Training for upper to middle level executives in organizations to
use the skill of storytelling in their work.
4) Individual training – for teachers and for upper/top level executives in organizations
All sessions above will include Voice, Relaxation, Performance Skills and Public Speaking (where required).
Louisa GH Ong - Storyteller
Louisa GH Ong has years of professional storytelling in USA and Singapore. She lived in the US for 12 years and was fascinated by the strong tradition of oral storytelling.
Besides training students, she thoroughly enjoys telling unforgettable stories to both adults and children. She considers it a gift for her to be able to share the treasure of a meaningful story with others. For the past few years, she has been promoting Kamishibai (Japanese Paper Theatre) to community centres, libraries and storytelling events in Singapore.
Trained from both sides of the pond (as she calls it) she holds a MA (Communication) and a BA (Theatre Arts) from New York universities, as well as two Speech and Drama Teaching Diplomas from Guildhall School of Music and Drama, UK and The London School of Music, UK and a Public Speaking Teaching Diploma from Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Louisa GH Ong is a Professional Member of the Storytelling Association of Singapore and a member of National Storytelling Network, USA. In 2020 she was recognized as one of the Rochester Women Changemakers by the Rochester Museum and Science Centre
